Careful design does pay.
Our client wished to sell this property, a slightly down-at-heel one bedroom flat in central South London. He approached the Practice to look at the possibility of refurbishing and converting it to two bedrooms with an upgraded bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom at the back, was relocated between the front two rooms, thus allowing the rear extension to open onto the courtyard garden and form an open plan kitchen/living area. The kitchen window was designed as a quirky vent to allow natural ventilation without compromising security. Full height entrance doors immediately signified a more stylish than usual conversion and the flat, although small, felt unusually light and airy. The property was sold as soon as it went on the market demonstrating that careful design does pay.
