HEO were asked to look at the development of a building in Mayfair. The client requested a bold and contemporary approach, maximising the buildings potential in this high value area. HEO proposed a scheme which linked the existing building on the corner of the street to its context by both completing the terrace to which it forms an end, whilst addressing the much larger block of flats adjoining it at 90 degrees. Using a revival of the Feance technique (a glazed tile popular in art deco buildings) in a striking and bold way to clad both the new and existing buildings, the extensions to the rooftop and the rear are very much integrated into the overall design.
